Sub-project completion Digital (learning) room equipment
With the "Digital learning room equipment" project, RPTU is taking an important step towards sustainable university teaching. One of the central elements and sub-projects is the so-called mirrored lecture halls, which enable simultaneous, interactive teaching at both campuses in Kaiserslautern and Landau.
Since 2023, RPTU has united around 20,000 students in over 160 degree programs - spread over two locations around 50 kilometers apart. In order to make optimum use of the potential of this structure, courses will increasingly be able to take place across locations in the future. The aim is to network teaching staff and students at both locations more closely and to promote synergies in teaching and research.
The focus is on the technical and didactic equipment of two seminar rooms, which are configured identically. This allows courses to take place simultaneously at both locations - with as few technical and organizational hurdles as possible as well as high didactic quality.
The first courses were successfully launched in the summer semester of 2025 - including cross-location formats as part of the new joint degree program "Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior" in Kaiserslautern and Landau.
Summer School 2025: Practice meets innovation
One highlight is the Summer School for Studying and Teaching on August 29, 2025 under the motto "Connecting spaces - overcoming distance". The focus will be on the practical testing of hybrid teaching formats in the mirror seminar rooms.
