Departmental councils
The department council is the highest decision-making body of a department and is made up of representatives of the teaching staff, students and academic and non-academic staff.
The department council elects the dean and, if applicable, other members of the dean's office, such as the vice dean or the dean of studies. The committee also advises and decides on the use of the department's resources - from finances and personnel to premises. The Faculty Council is also responsible for fundamental issues in the areas of research and teaching, such as the establishment or discontinuation of degree programs, the adoption of examination regulations or the awarding of academic titles.
