
Challenge your Team
Team-building and team development measures are always characterised by a transparent problem definition (reason), clear goal definitions and individual problem solving, as well as a clear structure of the team process/team measure. Before implementing team building or team development measures, it is essential to check whether these projects meet the criteria specified by the university management and are actually intended exclusively for this purpose.
The following are not team development measures: Outings and leisure activities as well as excursions without any intention of development or change. e.g. visits to Christmas markets, museums, exhibitions, company tours, visits to musicals, etc.
If a team development measure is to be combined with business trips, the corresponding travel requests must be submitted to the Human Resources Department in good time and, if possible, together with the Chancellor's positive decision on the measure as such.

Possible occasions for team development measures
- Establishment or composition of a new team,
- Alignment of the team towards common goals and tasks,
- Occurrence of communication problems,
- Lack of team rules and structures,
- Violations of existing team rules and resulting conflicts,
- Declining team performance,
- Reflection on previous cooperation and results achieved.
What are the goals of team development?
- Clarification of objectives and resolution of conflicts,
- Clarification of the roles and responsibilities of the team members,
- Improving communication among team memebers and subsequently externally,
- Develpoment of working structures between team members and the outside work,
- Improvement of procedures and processes,
- Dealing with technical problems and tasks,
- Promoting the social skills of team members,
- Improving communication within the team,
- Recognizing and jointly overcoming problems on a factual and realtional leval and
- Optimization of external and internal interfaces.
