Three e-service projects successfully completed
At the last E-Service Steering Committee meeting on March 18, 2021, three projects were presented with regard to their completion. The following three projects were presented on the basis of the final project report:
IP telephony:
The UnifiedCommunication (UC) function is associated in particular with the advantage of the so-called OneNumber. On the one hand, employees can be reached under their office number on different devices and, at the same time, the office number is displayed independently of the device used. Furthermore, this provides a modern application for managing (missed) calls. The necessary licenses for UC will soon be advertised for use by the RHRK.
Project manager: Dr. Reuther
Digital module handbook:
The aim of the project was to replace the module handbooks previously maintained in MS Word with a web-based version. The digital module handbook has been live since October 2020 and has received consistently positive feedback. Future extensions are possible. For example, a function for mapping material and content could be created without major effort. In the context of the merger, it was agreed that Landau would take over the solution.
Project manager: Dr. Thees
Alumni database:
The alumni database is used for web-based contact and maintenance of former TUK students. Among other things, it offers a newsletter function and has been productive since December 2020. There are currently around 1,900 users and new registrations every day. To promote the platform, TUK's letter to graduates explicitly refers to the possibility of registering. Functional enhancements are also planned. As a first step, an English version is to be made available in order to draw the attention of foreign-language alumni to the platform.
Project manager: Ms. Helfgen
As part of the E-Service steering committee, the university management expressed its thanks and appreciation to the project managers and the project team.
