E-services and merger

To support the work on the merger, the "Structural Reform & Digitalization" project group was set up at the end of last year, made up of representatives from the Landau campus and the University of Kaiserslautern.
The main tasks of this project group are to support the areas of responsibility of the merger project in planning and managing their work, to coordinate overarching topics and work (also with regard to possible interfaces with the E-Services project) and to carry out the monthly reporting to the LA VSI and the Chancellor.

The work of the Structural Reform & Digitalization project group has now led to initial results, which were presented to those involved in the university structural reform project at a meeting on 12 January. These are changes to the reporting system within the merger project. The changes are based on the structures and functionalities of the reporting system of our overall "E-Services" project and mean that monthly status reports will now also be produced for the merger project.

As the further development of the reporting system is based on the existing structures and processes in the E-Services area, this does not result in any significant need for changes to the existing reporting system.

There are two points of contact with the E-Services project:

1. project management is now based on more reliable information about dependencies between the individual projects, the so-called "work packages". Among other things, cross-connections between functional and technical tasks are also taken into account. This also applies to E-Service projects that are linked to individual work packages in terms of content, technology and therefore also time and organization.
2. The reporting system is merged with that of the E-Service project on a monthly basis in order to provide the LA VSI and the Chancellor with an aggregated overview of the overall project. The deadlines for submitting the reports have therefore been coordinated between the merger project and the E-Services project and will be made available in the form of a reporting calendar for 2022.

As part of the merger work, there will be closer cooperation with those involved in the E-Services area in order to take into account dependencies between E-Services projects and the merger work packages in a targeted manner.
