Interim status "Absence management"

The project was launched in 2023 to simplify time recording processes and sickness and vacation notifications and, together with the Landau site, to transfer them to a modern, digital tool to replace the existing system. A self-service is planned that will enable employees to record their absences independently.

The project was put out to tender as part of a Europe-wide tendering process, followed by bidder negotiations. During these negotiations, however, not all outstanding issues could be resolved, which led to renegotiations. However, these did not produce the desired result. Despite careful examination of all options and consideration of experience from previous projects, the continuation of the project under the current conditions and in consultation with the parties involved was deemed too risky.

After thorough consideration, it was therefore decided to cancel the current award procedure and initiate a speedy new tendering process in order to find a sustainable and future-oriented solution. In the next steps, all relevant documents will be revised and adapted in collaboration with the stakeholders involved. A new invitation to tender is planned as soon as the outstanding issues described in the annexes have been clarified and integrated into the specifications.

There will also be changes to the project structure: from February 2025, Mr. Hergenröder will take over overall project management, while Ms. Feller will continue to contribute her technical expertise from Department 3.
