Call for Contributions: Workshop „Social Cohesion and rural transformation”

We are happy to share the call for contributions for our workshop "Social cohesion and rural transformation" that will take place on 13-14 June 2023 at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau in Landau.

We call for contributions that link land governance changes with questions of social cohesion and human security. In this context, we want to highlight how emerging conflicts from land use changes or land reform impact social cohesion in communities or reshape the relation between residents and local/customary authorities. We also invite work on related gender and/or conflict transformation dynamics.

The workshop is organised by Anne Hennings and Christopher Rohles in the context of the project "Tug of War - Customary and State Actors in Land Reform and their Impact on Human Security in Post-Conflict Societies“.
