Strengthening ties and taking stock halfway through the 15th funding cycle: The Deutschlandstipendium summer meeting in the park of Villa Denis in Diemerstein once again provided an opportunity for students, scholarship recipients, and members of the university leadership to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. Several of the reviewers involved in the selection process, as well as nearly all Felix Klein Scholarship recipients, also accepted the invitation.

To kick things off, RPTU President Malte Drescher welcomed the guests. He took the opportunity to thank the sponsors for their support. “Thanks to your commitment, the number of scholarships has remained at a high level for years, something we’re proud of. Behind these numbers lies a strong commitment from our sponsors, as well as your consistent feedback that you enjoy working with our university and feel well supported,” said Drescher.

Currently, 160 students receive the Germany Scholarship from 50 sponsors. Addressing the scholarship recipients, he added: “In your videos and emails, you not only describe how you benefit from the Germany Scholarship both financially and in terms of support, but also that you particularly appreciate the scholarship culture at RPTU. This is a great source of motivation for us to continue shaping the scholarship program in a dynamic and communicative way in the future.”

Carla Sievers, Head of the University Funding Division and coordinator of the Germany Scholarship at RPTU, expressed her gratitude for the excellent and trusting collaboration with the sponsors and scholarship recipients. At specially set-up “sponsor tables,” sponsors and scholarship recipients quickly found each other and spent the summer evening engaged in lively conversations.

The RPTU has been involved with the Germany Scholarship since 2011. It has already awarded over 2,000 Germany Scholarships. This corresponds to a total funding amount of approximately 7.2 million euros to date, including federal funds. Thanks to the commitment of the sponsors, the number of scholarships has remained at a high level for years.
