SPIN+X as Silver Sponsor of JEMS-Conference in Mainz

SPIN+X acted as silver sponsor of the Joint European Magnetic Symposia (JEMS) from September 3 to 7, 2018 in Mainz hosting, e.g., the "Women in Magnetism" reception.

From September 3 to 7, 2018 about 1000 scientists participated at the Joint European Magnetic Symposia 2018, the largest and most important European conference on magnetism. A wide range of scientists from students to senior professors discussed the latest advances in the field of magnetism and magnetic materials, from basic research to application. Chairman of the JEMS Organizing Committee was SPIN+X PI Jairo Sinova.
SPIN+X acted as silver sponsor of the conference, hosting the "Women in Magnetism" reception on Tuesday night, which gave female scientists from young academics to senior researchers the opportunity to extend and deepen their network. Guest speakers were Julie Grollier of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Paris and Laura Heyderman of ETH Zurich. SPIN+XPIs Bärbel Rethfeld and Karin Everschor-Sitte hosted the event.
The SPIN+X outreach project provided an exhibition for the conference participants on Wednesday discussing opportunities and possibilities with scientists to communicate their research to the general public and / or students and teachers by showing best practice examples developed within SPIN+X.
