A13 Spin+Quantum sensing: Diagnosing nonclassical magnon states via NV center qubits and phonons

Prof. Dr. Akashdeep Kamra (Department of Physics, RPTU)

We will develop the density matrix-based theoretical framework to describe magnonic modes coupled with external high-coherence systems acting as quantum sensors. Two different kinds of sensors will be considered - (i) an NV center qubit and (ii) a phonon mode. We will formulate the quantum master equation for the sensing subsystem that takes into account its interactions with the magnonic subsystem to be sensed. In this manner, a unified classical-quantum treatment for the total system will be obtained predicting concrete experimental protocols for sensing the nonclassical features, such as quantum entanglement, in magnons.
