Social media in science communication
Would you like to use social media to communicate about your research? Science communication can be a central aspect of scientific work. It promotes social understanding, strengthens trust in science, enables innovation and inspires people to educate themselves and participate in scientific dialog. This in-depth course is particularly useful if you have concrete plans to use your own social media channels to communicate about your research or are considering a career in science communication later on. The course will take up your own topics and deal with them directly.
Content:
The course deals with the importance of science communication in social media. You will gain an overview of different platforms, learn to create effective social media posts and develop strategic planning skills. The course also addresses potential areas of conflict in social media and offers strategies for dealing with them constructively. From the basics to advanced strategies, the course provides a practical approach to the successful integration of science communication in social media. The advanced course “Social Media in Science Communication” also includes the content of the “Fundamentals of Science Communication” course. However, you will not receive a separate certificate of attendance for the basic course. If you are interested in both courses and do not need the certificate of attendance for the basic course, it is sufficient to book only the social media course.

The e-learning units can be flexibly integrated into everyday working life at any time and from anywhere. The course has a total duration of 4 hours and comprises 6 modules that can be accessed online at any time. You can register for the course here.
You have six months after receiving the access data to complete the course. Within this period, send us a certificate of attendance (or a screenshot) as proof of your participation. Please note that failure to provide proof of attendance will result in you being excluded from the program for six months. This measure serves to ensure that all interested parties receive a place on our courses and that the courses can continue to be offered free of charge. If you are unable to complete the course within the next six months, please do not hesitate to contact us.
