Biases can occur in appointment procedures, which influence the procedure as bias effects. The training on bias in appointment procedures with a focus on gender bias is aimed at members of appointment committees. It is the result of a cooperation project between the Technische Universität Berlin and the Berlin University of the Arts and was funded by the Berlin Programme for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching.
The training lasts about 40-60 minutes and consists of 9 animated scenes that can be viewed in both German and English.
Further information can be found on the TU Berlin website.

The 70 Clusters of Excellence that begin their seven‑year funding period in 2026 (2026‑2032) offer a wide range of structured funding and career opportunities for postdocs and group leaders. On the English‑language overview page, internationally‑oriented researchers can find concise information about each cluster’s research priorities, the relevant job portals, and the planned support programs (mentoring, networking, career development). Because there is currently no central platform for R2/R3 positions in Germany, this overview improves visibility and makes it easier to apply deliberately to the clusters—especially the newly founded ones that are still setting up their structures. Use the resource to browse cluster profiles, bookmark job portals, and proactively contact the corresponding PI teams.
