Team development
Team development is an important aspect of everyday scientific work that influences teamwork and productivity. With professional support from ZGaPL, scientists at RPTU can strengthen their teamwork and achieve excellence in their scientific work. By promoting communication, cooperation, and self-management, teams can develop their skills and competencies. Our team development therefore helps to overcome challenges on an individual and collective level.
Teamentwicklung
Possible topics:
- New team composition
- Team development
- Strengthening communication and conflict prevention
- Improving collaboration
- Psychological safety and error culture
Possible goals (Important: you define your own goals for your coaching):
- Getting to know each other and building trust
- Reflecting on roles, needs, leadership behavior, and communication styles
- Learning new strategies, methods, and skills that make everyday (work) life easier and lead to greater satisfaction and success in the long term
- Getting to know the strengths within the team and distributing tasks appropriately
- Strategic orientation of research within the team
Extent and procedure:
- We facilitate quick and uncomplicated team development measures lasting up to one day (max. 8 hours) for scientific teams at the RPTU (working groups, research groups, chairs, interdisciplinary research teams, etc.). For teams with external scientists, 80% must belong to the RPTU.
- In consultation with the coaches, the day can also be used only partially. Unused hours remain available for this team for later dates and other topics.
- One day is sufficient for most concerns. However, if more hours or the processing of another topic are necessary, or if approximately 60% of the team members have changed since the last team coaching session, we will try to facilitate further team coaching sessions. In this case, please fill out the “Coaching Motivation” form and send it to: zgapl-coaching@rptu.de. The mailbox is managed by Dr. Caroline Marker, Lena Getto, and Megan Benoit-Gärtner.
TeamBUILDING for scientific teams
Individual short workshop for reflection and improvement of teamwork
What is it about?
Good teams build new things together. In a two-hour workshop, we take this at face value and approach the improvement of teamwork away from the actual work content. Knowing, reflecting on, and improving the dynamics of teamwork is an important building block of successful teams. Especially when a team is being rebuilt, this short workshop can help create a good foundation.
Content:
- Introduction and getting to know each other
- Joint challenge: Tower building
- Reflection on the process and transfer to teamwork
- Identifying challenges and gathering solutions
Goals:
- Strengthening cooperation: overcoming challenges together and celebrating successes
- Identifying challenges and working on solutions
- Strengthening psychological safety: getting to know and trust each other
- Getting to know the strengths of team members and recognizing communication patterns
