What's it about?

Research, teaching, publications, and administrative duties—the daily lives of researchers are shaped by a wide range of demands that often require simultaneous attention. Despite intensive workdays, many are left with the feeling that there is too little time for what truly matters: their own research projects, strategic goals, or personal recovery. In this workshop, you will learn how to manage your time more efficiently and set clear priorities to master your diverse tasks with confidence. We will develop strategies to help you advance long-term projects—such as completing publications, grant applications, or research projects—in a structured way, ensuring that short-term obligations do not constantly interfere. Through practical exercises, you will develop a self-management system tailored to your individual situation and career stage, enabling you to work more productively, create realistic schedules, and prevent burnout.

Key Content:

  • Assessing the Status Quo: Analyzing current time usage and personal energy-load balance; visualizing potential areas for development to gain greater autonomy over your time.
  • Foundations of Time and Self-Management: Understanding the core principles.
  • Time Thieves & Obstacles: Identifying distractions, disruptors, and procrastination.
  • The Balancing Act: Managing research, teaching, and personal life—how to reconcile competing demands.
  • Strategic Goal Setting: Defining SMART goals and establishing clear priorities.
  • Time management Tools: Transitioning from simple to-do lists to comprehensive planning.
