Dr. Nina Engwicht is a political scientist. Her research focuses on illegal markets under conditions of weak statehood, resource conflicts and peace processes after civil wars. In June 2015, she was awarded a doctorate by the University of Cologne with a dissertation on "Illegal markets in post-conflict societies: The Sierra Leonean Diamond Market" for her doctorate.
Since 2019, she has been a full-time lecturer at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration.
