What is it about?

»The PhD project is like a mountain without any clear paths – and the summit is hidden in the mist. To reach the top you need the right tools«

What are the right tools to get a PhD project done? To be sure, one needs expertise as a researcher. In addition to that an effective and efficient work style is necessary. Planning under uncertainty, self-motivation even when progress is unclear, efficiency with a multitude of tasks.

What's the point?

In this workshop you reflect upon the basics of flexible project management. We discuss strategies for efficient self-management. You think about your own priorities and how to implement them in your planning. You will get specific ideas for improving your own approach towards organizing yourself and your work. Depending on the interests of the participants we also deal with such topics as: How to write efficiently? How to communicate with your supervisor? How to deal with stress and crises? How to stay motivated?
