Funding for PhD students
TU-Nachwuchsring - We support young science!
Funding lines for PhD students
The support of doctoral students at the RPTU is an important concern of the TU-Nachwuchsring. Our offer includes not only further education but also financial support. On this page, you will find information on all funding lines of the TU-Nachwuchsring, which are aimed at the target group of doctoral students, as well as on offers of other providers (internal and external to RPTU).
Mobility funding
PhD students registered at the RPTU in Kaiserslautern can apply for financial support for participation in external conferences and external research stays at the TU-Nachwuchsring. In case of approval, the Nachwuchsring contributes proportionally to travel expenses and participation fees (maximum 80% of the costs). The mobility funding is announced several times a year.
Support for participation in German courses
The TU-Nachwuchsring wants to support international young scientists of the RPTU who want to learn German on the job or improve their German language skills!
Therefore, until further notice, doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers of the RPTU can apply for the coverage of the participation fees of the "Abendkurse Deutsch" of the VKB e.V..
More information on funding can be found here.
Further education
To promote the interdisciplinary qualification, the TU-Nachwuchsring offers doctoral students from all departments of the RPTU a wide selection of continuing education opportunities. These include online and face-to-face seminars and e-learning courses available throughout the year.
In addition to the offers of the Nachwuchsring, you will also find a selection of courses of other further education organizers of the RPTU as well as the RPTU's affiliated institutes on our site, which are also aimed at doctoral students.
Project funding
The aim of project funding is to support projects that are not covered by other funding lines and serve to promote young scientists at the RPTU. This includes, for example, doctoral symposia organized by members of the TU Kaiserslautern.
Publication funding
Scientists can use various funding options to publish open access articles in scientific journals or books. Further information can be found on the University Library website.
Support offers from other providers (internal and external)
In addition to the offers of the TU-Nachwuchsring, there are many other exciting funding opportunities for PhD students. On this page, you will find an overview of some of the RPTU's funding programs and support offers as well as a selection of external funding sources that are (also) aimed at doctoral students.
