TU-Nachwuchsring - We promote young scientists!

Research Funding of TU-Nachwuchsring

The TU-Nachwuchsring would like to actively promote the visibility of young researchers and therefore announces at least once a year a research funding for postdocs, junior research group leaders as well as junior professors of all departments of the RPTU.

The goal of the funding is to support the applicants in a research project that serves to promote the applicants’ careers and is to be carried out within the framework of an activity at RPTU. The funded research project should either serve to prepare an application for outside funding or a fellowship (funding up to 10,000€) or result in a scientific publication (funding up to 3,000€). Projects that serve to promote young scientists and do not aim to obtain outside funding or to prepare a publication can be applied for within the framework of project funding of the TU-Nachwuchsring. The application for outside funding/fellowship or the publication must be submitted no later than one year after the start of the support.

Funding from the TU Nachwuchsring can be used for preliminary scientific work, such as running experiments and/or simulations, financing assistants, or for material resources. Funding cannot be used for travels to conferences (see funding line mobility funding) or to pay for the applicant’s own position or for material resources that are already covered by the core funding (Grundausstattung; e.g. costs for publications, books, software/hardware).

In general:

  • Prerequisite for funding is individual membership in the TU-Nachwuchsring. Please also note our criteria for using the offers of the TU-Nachwuchsring.
  • Young researchers who have already been funded by the TU-Nachwuchsring within the framework of research funding must also provide a brief explanation of the status of their already approved project when submitting a new application. In these cases, renewed approval is subject to proof of submission of the intended third-party funding application/publication.
