Criteria "Young Scientists"
REaCh - We promote young scientists!
The offers of REaCh (formerly TU-Nachwuchsring) are addressed to all early career reseachers of the RPTU who fulfill the general criteria of a early career researcher listed on this page.
In addition, further specifications apply in the individual funding lines, which can be found in the respective calls for proposals.
General criteria for the use of the offers of REaCh by Early Career Researcher of the RPTU
The offers of REaCh (formerly TU-Nachwuchsring) are primarily aimed at early career reseachers of the RPTU.
According to the definition of REaCh, these are:
- All doctoral candidates who are officially registered as doctoral candidates at RPTU.
- Junior professors or tenure-track professors of the RPTU
Furthermore...
- ...up to and including 6 years1 after graduation2:
- Persons holding a doctorate (e.g. in research and teaching, but also other career paths) working at RPTU (employees and scholarship holders)
- ...from 6 years after graduation (PhD):
- Junior research group leaders, habilitation candidates and similar (see definition BuWin: R3), who conduct research at the RPTU but are not in a permanent employment relationship.
1 When calculating your academic age, periods spent outside of academia/research (e.g., parental leave and industry experience) as well as part-time work may be taken into account.
2 Equivalent qualifications may apply to individual disciplines (e.g. architecture)…
Good to know: In line with the change in our name, we are also gradually phasing out the terms “young researchers” (Nachwuchswissenschaftler*in and wissenschaftlicher Nachwuchs in German). Going forward, you’ll increasingly see the term “Early Career Researcher (ECR)” on our website and in our programs.
If you are not sure if these criteria are applicable to your own career path or if you are eligible for a particular funding line, we will be happy to advise you!
