TU-Nachwuchsring - We promote young scientists!

Workshop "Writing third party funding proposals"

[Translate to English:] Potting soil with two piles of coins on top, a planted light bulb and a seedling next to it

When and where?

30.10.2025, 09:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Room 86-105 at the Kaiserslautern campus Kaiserslautern

Target group

The workshop is aimed at young scientists who are facing the challenge of writing their first third-party funding application (doctoral students who are about to complete their doctorate or postdocs). You are also welcome if you have already experience with proposals but want to have some new impulses for the writing process.

What is it about?

Having a project idea is often easy, putting it into a good proposal is the hard work that follows. Your idea seems clear to you - in this course we will work on making it understandable to others. Using various exercises, we will develop strategies to structure the writing process. Finally, we will talk about all the non-scientific parts of a proposal, such as gender aspects or the management of research data.

The following contents are covered:

  • Preparation of proposals from the formulation of objectives through the work plan to the summary
  • Financial planning
  • Hands-on exercises

What else?

  • Please bring your research idea and, if applicable, the call documents.
  • You can work with your laptop or tablet if you wish, but pen and paper are also sufficient.
  • Course language is English

Trainer:

Dr. Lena Josch, National Research Affairs/Structural Affairs Officer (RPTU)
