Learn about German Christmas customs and see how we celebrate this festive season at the ISGS Christmas Party!
ISGS Christmas Party
This will not be a religious celebration! We will sit together, bake and eat Christmas cookies, and explore some German Christmas traditions. And who knows? Even Santa Claus might come around ;)
One of our activities will be the so-called "Secret Santa" (German: “wichteln”). It is a Christmas ritual involving a group of people anonymously exchanging small gifts. This means each participant should prepare a small wrapped present (i.e., some sweets, a candle, something from you home-country,... its value should not exceed 5 Euro). At the beginning of the party all presents will be collected and afterwards distributed according to a special, anonymous system.
Please note: Only if you bring a present for someone else, will you also receive one! Participation is voluntary.
We also plan to sing some international (and German) Christmas carols. Texts and songs will be rehearsed with Mrs. Greff during our workshop some days before the Christmas party.
