Content

The consecutive Master's degree course in Computer Science is a two-year university course that requires knowledge of the Bachelor's degree course in Computer Science. Students can choose two areas of computer science as their specializations and gain the ability to carry out demanding development and independent research work in computer science. The department currently offers the following specializations:

- Algorithms and Deduction
- Embedded Systems & Robotics
- Information Systems
- Intelligent Systems
- Distributed and Networked systems
- Software Engineering
- Visualization and Scientific Computing
- Data Science (only in Specialization 1)

A theory module, a module in formal foundations, compulsory elective lectures from other areas of computer science and a large free elective area complement the two specializations.

Curriculum

The Master's program usually begins with about two semesters of lectures from the above-mentioned areas. The theory modules should be completed as early as possible. A research project in the chosen specialization should be completed in the second or third semester. The degree program concludes with the Master's thesis, which takes up the entire fourth semester.

Because of the international scope of the computer science industry and research, the department recommends spending one semester abroad.
