What opportunities does the sports teacher training program offer me?
At the RPTU in Landau, students can choose to study for a teaching position in physical education at elementary schools, at Realschulen plus, at special schools, or at high schools. The program is designed as a bachelor's and master's degree program. The prerequisite for admission to the Master's program is the successful completion of the Bachelor's program. With the Master of Education, the 1st state examination is acquired at the same time. After completion of the 2nd state examination, the subject Physical Education can be taught at the respective type of school.
What prerequisites should I bring with me?
In addition to enjoying sports, students should also have an interest in the theoretical content of sports science, as well as an interest in and willingness to work with children and young people in their future careers, to teach them about sports and to help them improve their sports skills. A sports aptitude test must be taken and passed before admission to the program. For more information, visit:

How is the study program structured?
The program is divided into a polyvalent bachelor's degree with a standard period of study of 6 semesters and the master's degree that builds on this with a standard period of study of 4 semesters. In the case of the polyvalent bachelor's degree, students do not make the final decision for a particular type of school until after four semesters. The master's program in physical education is then school-specific.
