Content

The imagined image of the ‘good house’ will accompany you through all years of study. You will learn how construction, materiality, space and appearance must be brought together in the balance of opposing forces to create a balanced architectural whole - and you will learn the differences between banal construction and architectural art, between unpretentious joining and perfect composition.

Curriculum

The Master's degree programme in Architecture is divided into three semester projects, two architectural and one other architectural, artistic or theoretical semester project. The Master's thesis is due in the fourth and final semester.

The Master's programme is characterised by the consolidation of the fundamentals of the Bachelor's programme. Students can choose topics from three specialisations specified by the Faculty of Architecture: Architectural Design as Methodical Design and the two so-called Focus Areas: History and Theory of Architecture, Artistic Design and Timber Construction.

On completion of the Master's degree programme, students are able to lead groups responsibly in the context of complex tasks and represent the results of their work. They are able to promote the professional development of others in a targeted manner and lead interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary discussions. They are able to develop, work on and present research projects independently.

The qualification is a prerequisite for registration in the list of architects of the German Chambers of Architects. It represents the successful completion of the Chambers of Architects, enables you to work independently and leads to professional qualification as an architect worldwide in accordance with EU standards and UNESCO/UIA directives.
