The teaching profession studies consist of a Bachelor's and a Master's program. The six-semester Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) does not yet qualify you for the teaching profession. During the course of the Bachelor's degree, after the fourth semester you have to make the final decision for a type of school (LAR+, LAG, LABBS), until then the course of study takes place across all types of school.
The teacher training-specific Master's programs build on the B.Ed. The Master of Education (M.Ed.) comprises four semesters in the LABBS course. After successfully completing the M.Ed., you will receive recognition as a “First State Examination”. This is the prerequisite for your entry into the preparatory service and obtaining the Second State Examination.
The curricular standards that govern the degree program guarantee a high standard of academic and didactic expertise. As part of both programs, you will complete a total of four school internships during the lecture-free periods (http://schulpraktika.rlp.de/).

As in almost all other degree programs, it is possible to gain experience abroad when studying to become a teacher. Be it studying abroad for a semester or even completing one of the orientation internships abroad. There are a number of opportunities and often even funding in the form of a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The Master's program for the teaching profession at vocational schools requires a Bachelor of Education in which two subjects and educational sciences have already been studied.
In Kaiserslautern, you can choose automation technology as a second subject for the teaching degree at vocational schools, in combination with the vocational subject of electrical engineering.
The third subject in every teaching profession study is educational science.
The StudierendenServiceCenter offers a variety of consultation and information all around studying at the RPTU.
