Discover Landau
The university town of Landau is located in the heart of the southern palatinate and has approximately 46,000 inhabitants. Thus, the town is big enough to offer a diverse range of industries and services but at the same time has a charming atmosphere and is small enough so one can find a way around easily.
The average of 1800 hours of sun per year convey an almost mediterranean feeling. Well-being is the motto of Landau. A multifaceted and interesting event calendar, which underlines Landau's reputation as a cultural city, is part of that. The region offers various attractions: historic sights, castles and palaces, modern galleries and museums, concerts ranging from rock to classical music, lectures and festivals all year round.
Moreover, the region is famous for its viticulture, and Landau is the biggest wine growing municipality in Germany. It is also part of the German Wine Route, which in total is about 85 kilometers long. The most outstanding attributes of the Southern German Wine Route, to which Landau belongs, are culture and sights, hiking and trekking, a mild climate and the almond blossom season.
