DSH examinations at RPTU

You can apply for a place at RPTU with the German proficiency level B-1. But this means that you only have about half the knowledge of the German language you require to begin your studies.

Prior to enrolment, you have to take the DSH examination. You need at least the result DSH-2.

What do I have to do if I want to take the DSH examination at RPTU?
  • You need to apply for a place to study at RPTU.
  • With your admission letter, you also receive an apülication form for the DSH exam. You can enroll for the exam directly if you can prove one of these examination results:
  • DSH-1 of a university or Studienkolleg, with examination regulations following the official examination regulations for the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang" (DSH). The DSH exam has to be registered officially by the Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK) following the rules of the "Rahmenordnung über deutsche Sprachprüfungen" (RO-DT) of the HRK.
  • TestDaF with a result of at least 15 points
  • TELC C1 Hochschule with at least 55 % in both the written part (LV, HV, SA) and the oral part
  • B2-Prüfung TELC / Goethe-Institut / Österreichisches Sprachdiplom ÖSD with the final result „gut“ or „sehr gut“
  • If you achieve DSH-2 or DSH-3 as an overall result in the DSH, you may begin your studies immediately. If you achieve fewer points, you can also enrol in and attend the DSH course

The examination regulations for the DSH examination of RPTU are based on the DSH framework regulations of the Conference of Ministers of Education (KMK) which are valid throughout Germany. You can read them at the International Affairs Department (RefInt6) or download them here .

I would like to study at RPTU. But I don't have a DSH examination or a TestDaF yet and cannot enroll directly for the DSH exam. What do I have to do?

Together with your admission papers, you will receive a registration form for the DSH course. Fill out this form and send it back to us by mail. If you want to join the DSH ourse, you will have to participate in a written placement test in March or September where you can show us your actual level of German. If your level still is sufficient to join the course, you can pay the course fee and participate in the DSH course at RPTU in the forecoming semester.
