The University Advisory Board serves as a link between the university and society. It takes a position vis-à-vis the Senate on all questions of fundamental importance, in particular on teaching and research reports, on transfers of research results into practice, on advanced scientific education and on the university’s budget.
The Advisory Board has a total of 13 members, who participate as representatives of important social institutions or groups. Seven of them are named by the university, three from the 'Landtag' , and three from the Ministry of Science.
