PROMOS

The DAAD program PROMOS supports students at German universities financially during short term stays in non-european countries. The scholarships will be paid out by RPTU according to the DAAD guidelines.

The scholarship comprises a monthly rate for living and a one-time travel grant. The amount depends on the country:

• Letter of motivation (preparation, choice of host country/host institution, reasons for stay abroad)

IN KAISERSLAUTERN:

August 6 - October 31, 2024

-> for a start of your stay abroad between January and July 2025

March 6 - June 20, 2024

-> for a start of your stay abroad between August and December 2024*

*Stays which start in 2024 can be supported until February 28, 2025

 

IN LANDAU:

December 1, 2024 - January 15, 2025

->for a start of your stay abroad between March and December 2025

Students with disabilities or chronic illnesses can apply for a subsidy to cover additional expenses.

Requirements:

  • Degree of disability (GdB) of at least 50 or medically confirmed chronic illness
  • Costs are not covered by another source

Documents required:

  • Rejection of cost coverage by health insurance or supplementary insurance
  • Copy of disability ID card or, in the case of chronic illness, medical certificate describing the medical requirements
  • Additional documents to explain the necessity and appropriateness of the increased expenses comprehensively.
