Exhibition on the "Bildungscampus Betzenberg": RPTU to showcase student ideas from March 5
From March 5 to 31, 2026, RPTU will be presenting the results of the "Bildungscampus Betzenberg" project in the lower foyer of Kaiserslautern Town Hall (Willy-Brandt-Platz 1). The public exhibition includes designs and concepts by students of spatial planning who worked intensively on the future of the Betzenberg as an educational location in the summer of 2025.
How can the elementary school, the two kindergartens and churches in the center of Betzenberg work together in the future and move closer together both structurally and spatially? These were the key questions that the budding spatial planners at RPTU dealt with during the project.
They are now making their ideas and suggestions accessible to all interested parties in the form of a post exhibition. The opening will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 5 p.m. in the town hall foyer. After welcoming words from Mayor Beate Kimmel, RPTU Professor Holger Schmidt will introduce the project and its significance. The students will then offer guided tours of the exhibition and present their designs. The program will conclude with a small drink.
The "Bildungscampus Betzenberg" project was developed in cooperation with the city of Kaiserslautern. The results also serve as an important basis for an architectural competition that the city administration is currently preparing.
