Going Wild: Recognizing, preserving and promoting biodiversity in cities and gardens
Get involved in the Department of Biology garden at RPTU. Under the motto "Going Wild: Recognizing, preserving and promoting biodiversity in the city and garden", the garden team shows why biodiversity is so important - and how it can be practically implemented and protected in your own garden.
Topics include beneficial insects, biodiversity-friendly structures and edible native wild plants. If you like, you can take plants from the garden team's offspring for your own flower bed.
A tour with hands-on and knowledge stations makes biodiversity and ecosystem functions tangible. There is a craft and painting table for children. The biology student council will provide refreshments.

Kaiserslautern is celebrating "750 years of city rights" this year. RPTU, the only technical university in Rhineland-Palatinate, has helped write over 50 years of the city's history since it was founded in 1970. The university is one of the largest employers in the region, a driving force in science and a vibrant part of the city community. In its anniversary year, this shared history will find special expression during the "City meets Campus" day of action, with RPTU contributing to the celebrations. The "Going Wild" event is part of this.
