LIFEum3: Learning from the fruit fly - from brain functions to neurodegeneration (Prof. Dr. Jan Pielage)

Our understanding of the brain is largely based on studies of simple animal models. This lecture will provide insights into research with the model organism Drosophila melanogaster and show how the fruit fly helps to better understand complex behavior and neurodegenerative diseases. Experience our LIFEum3 lecture series by experts on current research topics in biology and take the opportunity to ask questions directly. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of biology! After the lectures, you will have the opportunity to chat with the researchers in the café over snacks and refreshments, ask questions and delve deeper into the subject matter.

Organizer: Department of Biology

Kaiserslautern is celebrating "750 years of city rights" this year. RPTU, the only technical university in Rhineland-Palatinate, has helped write over 50 years of the city's history since it was founded in 1970. The university is one of the largest employers in the region, a driving force in science and a vibrant part of the city community. In its anniversary year, this shared history will find special expression in the numerous scientific and cultural events that RPTU is contributing to the marathon celebrations - in the city and on campus.
