Lecture by Prof. Leander Kempen: Advanced training in stochastics at upper secondary level - experiences from the QuaMath project

As part of the QuaMath project, a training series on stochastics in upper secondary schools was developed. It comprises three modules, each lasting three hours, on the topics of "conditional probabilities", "binomial distribution" and "prediction intervals". Between the individual modules, practical phases are planned in which the participating teachers try out the content of the previous module in the classroom and then reflect on it. The content of the training is shaped by the overarching framework of the QuaMath project. This is based on five selected characteristics of quality mathematics teaching and five so-called "teacher jobs", which focus on central aspects of professional teacher action. The lecture will present central considerations for the development of the training series. In addition, initial findings and experiences from working with multipliers will be presented and put up for discussion.
