De-registration

You can terminate your affiliation with the RPTU at any time at your own request by de-registration.
On the date of de-registration, your student status ends and thus also all associated rights and obligations. This means that after de-registration you are no longer allowed to take any course work or examinations.

Here you will find a list of all the important points you need to consider at the end of your studies.

Important information

Retroactive de-registration is not possible.

Your RPTU account will be deactivated two weeks after de-registration and deleted one month later. You can find more information about this on the RHRZ page.

Your health insurance company will be informed about your de-registration by the RPTU.

You may no longer use your student ID card.

In case of a change of campus within the RPTU, please do not de-register, but apply via the application portal of the new location first.

RPTU Kaiserslautern: on-site and distance learning

De-registration (ex officio)

Automatic de-registration ("ex officio") only takes place at the end of the semester.

You will be automatically de-registered in the following cases:

if you do not re-register for the next semester (no payment of the social contribution).
if you have successfully completed your studies and you have received your certificate confirming that you have passed your final examination
if you have lost your examination entitlement

De-registration on application

You have the option of de-registration at any time during the semester (you can determine the date yourself, but retroactive de-registration is not possible).

Please send the completed de-registration application with keyboard by e-mail.

Please settle any outstanding matters directly with the University Library and the Studierendenwerk and, if applicable, your department. This will help you to avoid later enquiries (e.g. about the return of books, keys, etc.).

If you have already re-registered for the coming semester, please enclose a photo of your student ID with your de-registration application. If this has already been validated for the following semester, you must either send us the ID by post or present it at the SSC so that we can correct the validity.

For distance learning students, a personal appearance is not necessary.

Refund of the social contribution

If you de-register on application by 30.04. or 31.10., you have the option of refunding the tuition fees (social contribution) you have already paid for the semester.

To do so, please use the application for refund and submit it by 30.04. or 31.10. at the latest.

Important: If you de-register in the new semester, the subject or university semesters of the new semester remain valid.

RPTU Landau

General

De-registration usually takes place at the end of the semester. If you wish to transfer to another university or if other reasons make immediate de-registration necessary, you can apply for de-registration with immediate effect.

If you have been de-registered, please note that you can only log in until the date of de-registration (usually 31.03. or 30.09.).

Please note: After de-registration, you will no longer have access to KLIPS.

De-registration on application

You have the option of de-registering at any time during the semester (you can determine the date yourself, but retroactive de-registration is not possible).

Please complete the application for de-registration and send it to the Registrar's Office by e-mail.

In addition to the application for de-registration, we also require the discharge note from the university library. This is sent directly to the Registrar's Office by the University Library.

Likewise, if you are de-registering during the current semester, you must return your UniCard to the Registrar's Office in Landau.

De-registration after completion of studies

After the Examination Office has informed the Student Secretariat that your studies have ended, you will be contacted by the Student Secretariat.

You can then apply for de-registration at the Student Secretariat Landau until the end of the semester.

Therefore, always make sure that you have a valid email address and a valid postal address. If you change your address, you can enter the change in KLIPS.
