Student ID card
You received your student ID card with your enrolment. In addition to its function as a student ID, the multifunctional chip card serves as a payment card for the refectory at both campuses.
From 1 October 2024, only the app-bound D-Semesterticket can be used. The student ID card will then no longer be valid as a ticket.
At the Kaiserslautern campus, you can also use the student ID card in the following areas:
- Library
- Copying / printing
- Basic card Unisport
Chip card RPTU Kaiserslautern
Newly enrolled students will receive the chip card by post to the address given on their application.
If the chip card is issued very shortly before the start of the semester, you can collect it from the StudierendenServiceCenter. In this case, we will inform you by e-mail.
Your chip card is valid as long as you are enrolled. You will receive the chip card with the printed validity for your first semester.
There are several validators on campus where you can validate your chip card for further semesters. This is possible as soon as you are re-registered for the coming semester.
You can keep the chip card after your studies. If you enrol again at a later date, the card can be reactivated.
If you exmatriculate during the current semester, you must present your chip card at the StudierendenServiceCenter. The date of exmatriculation will be noted on the chip card.
We will decide on the spot whether the fee of 20 € will be charged. Please note that we cannot guarantee to produce the new chip card on the day of application!
The replacement issue is free of charge, for example, if there is a technical problem.
In the event of loss or theft, we can block your chip card and ensure that the deposited credit cannot be used. Therefore, please inform us immediately by e-mail (ssc-kl[at]rptu.de) about the loss. You will receive a replacement card for a fee of 20 €. You will automatically receive all further information on how to apply for a replacement card by e-mail after you have reported the loss.
If the card is found, it will usually be handed in to us. We will inform you by e-mail when you can come and collect your chip card.
From 01 October 2024, only the app-bound D-Semesterticket can be used. No imprint will appear on your student ID card or the student ID card will no longer be valid as a ticket.
If your last name has changed, please contact the SSC Kaiserslautern team.
