Research focus
My research interests focus on the diverse interactions of humans with the environment and, in particular, the services that humans receive from the environment and its ecosystems. Since these services are usually not readily visible on markets, I am working on methods to identify them and make them measurable in terms of their economic benefits for people. Among other things, I use market simulation methods such as contingent valuation and choice experiments as well as environmental life cycle analyses. The results of this research make it possible to consider environmental services more objectively in political decisions and in environmental management.
