Developing technology, understanding business

Are you interested in technology, but also want to understand economic relationships? The Mechanical Engineering with Business Administration course gives you both: a sound engineering education combined with business know-how.

On the Bachelor's degree course, you will learn how technical products - from machines to complex systems - are planned, built and operated. You will study subjects such as mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, production engineering, electrical engineering, machine elements and design. In addition to this engineering foundation, you will also acquire basic business management knowledge - for example in cost accounting, project management or corporate management.

With this mix of technology and business administration, you will be optimally prepared for tasks at the interface between development, production and management - ideal for management positions or project management in industry, for example.

After completing your Bachelor's degree, you can go straight into a career or continue with a Master's degree - the right place is waiting for you.

Curriculum

What to expect during your studies:

In the first five semesters, your studies will be similar to traditional mechanical engineering - you will receive a solid basic education in engineering. Instead of specializing in technical subjects later on, you will take business modules.

Compulsory subjects include accounting and finance, management, logistics and microeconomics. In addition, you can choose your own specializations from a variety of business subjects - depending on your interests.

A 16-week internship gives you the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice in a company and gain your first professional experience. With your Bachelor's thesis, you show that you can work scientifically - and complete your studies.

Before your studies:
To start your studies, you need a six-week basic internship - ideally in a technical company.
It does not have to be completed before the start of your studies, but you must provide evidence of it by the end of the 6th semester at the latest.

Our tip: Use the time before your studies to complete the internship. This will give you an initial insight into the practical side of things and help you to better understand your theoretical knowledge later on.

During your studies:
In the 16-week specialist internship, you will apply your knowledge in the company and gain valuable insights into everyday working life in mechanical engineering or in related areas - for example, at the interface between technology and business.
