The master's degree program in automotive engineering teaches methods and skills required for the conceptual design, layout and tuning of all types of vehicles. The master's degree thus predestines students for a career in the vehicle and supplier industry. This also includes the sectors of agricultural and construction machinery, rail vehicles and other special vehicle manufacturers. Because of the basic and method-oriented training, career starters are primarily employed in research and development. The master's degree entitles the holder to a doctorate.
The compulsory modules Vehicle Drives II, Vehicle Transmissions, Vehicle Vibrations, Vehicle Dynamics Control, Electric and Hybrid Vehicles, Automotive Production comprise a total of 25 credit points. A further 22 credit points are collected in elective modules, 14 of which are from a selection specially adapted to the degree program. The project work (12 LP) and the master's thesis (30 LP) can be used to demonstrate the ability to work scientifically. In addition, the study program provides for excursions of a total of two days (1 LP) duration, during which contacts with the vehicle industry can be established.
