Content

The interdisciplinary master's program in mechanical engineering with applied computer science focuses on the growing market of information and communication technologies, which are playing a key role in more and more processes and products in mechanical engineering (key words: mechatronics, cyber physical systems and Industry 4.0). With fundamental know-how from both mechanical engineering and computer science, there are excellent prospects on the job market in research and development departments of both disciplines, but especially in the area of the interface between the disciplines. The degree entitles the student to a doctorate.

Curriculum

The compulsory modules Digital Production Systems, Handling Technology and Industrial Robots, Digital Engineering II, Modeling of Software Systems, Foundations of Software Engineering, Laboratory Mechatronic Systems or Laboratory Automation and Control Engineering result in a total of 22 credit points. A further 26 credit points are collected in elective modules, of which 17 credit points are from a selection specially adapted to the degree program. The project work (12 LP) and the master's thesis (30 LP) can be used to demonstrate the ability to work scientifically.
