The Master's programme in Business Administration with Technical Qualification is aimed at outstanding Bachelor's graduates from similar programmes at academic universities in Germany and abroad.
The Master's programme follows on directly from the content of the previous Bachelor's programme, but gives you greater freedom and takes your specialist interests into account.
You must select 44 ECTS credits from the economics profile areas and 22 ECTS credits from the technical area, whereby the technical area is continued from the Bachelor's programme. Here, too, students can choose their own specialisations.
The technical specialisations that must already have been taken in the Bachelor's degree are:
- Civil engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
- Mechanical engineering
- Process engineering
The centre of the degree programme is formed by two specialisation subjects in economics, which can be chosen from a wide range of topics. The economic specialisations can come from one, but also from two profile areas.
The following can be selected in the Management profile area
- Marketing Management
- Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour
- Strategy, Innovation and Cooperation
- Sustainability Management
- Entrepreneurship
- Management of Digital Transformation
In the profile area Accounting and Finance, the following can be selected:
- Controlling
- Finance and Accounting
In the profile area Intelligence, Logistics & Operations, the following can be selected:
- Business Information Systems & Operations Research
- Production Management
- Logistics Management
The following can be selected in the Economics profile area
- Environmental and Industrial Economics
- Economic Theory
- Financial Economics
These are supplemented by the compulsory modules in qualitative and quantitative methods and a free elective area. The aim is to sharpen your methodological skills in business administration and economics and to provide you with a scientific and application-oriented education in the chosen specialisation areas. An important pillar of the Master's programme is research-based learning with seminars, a possible research project and the Master's thesis.
The selectable modules from the field of engineering (civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or process engineering) or computer science in the Master of Business Administration tQ are mostly limited to the corresponding Bachelor's modules and thus allow the acquisition of competences that a solid basic education in engineering can be expected to provide.
The curriculum of the Master's programme includes qualitative and quantitative research methods as compulsory modules, two economics core subjects as well as seminars, a compulsory economics internship and the possibility of a research project. The technical focus from the bachelor's degree is continued in the master's degree. After a standard period of study of four semesters, the programme is completed with a Master's thesis in economics.

The Master's degree programme creates the prerequisites for entry into a management position in both private and public companies. Depending on the chosen focus, graduates can choose from a wide range of fields of activity in all sectors. In addition, the Master's degree enables entry into an academic career at universities as well as research institutions and entitles graduates to a doctorate.
